Prepared at the end of each fall and spring semester, the Dean’s Honor List officially recognizes and commends students whose semester grades indicate distinguished academic accomplishment. Both the quality and quantity of work done are considered. Students must meet the following qualifications to be a recipient of this honor:
- Students must be matriculated/active.
- Students must be registered full-time in credit-bearing courses during the fall or spring semester.
- Must be a full-time student, and complete 12 or more graded credits (no Pass/No Pass) in one semester.
- Only passing grades (4.0 [or “A”], 3.0 [or “B”], and 2.0 [or “C”] and 1.7 [or “C-]) in credit-bearing courses are counted for eligibility
- No failing grades: a grade of “D” (or 1.0 quality points), and “F” (or 0 quality points) in any course makes the student ineligible, regardless of other grades.
- Minimum GPA of 3.5 is required.
- Any courses that do not count towards the degree are excluded.
- AP and Internship credits are excluded.
- Pass/No Pass credits are NOT counted when calculating qualifying credits.
- ”Incomplete” grades will be evaluated after they are made up. The student must have qualified for the Dean’s Honor List before and after the “Incomplete” grade was made up.
The student’s cumulative grade-point average is not considered; only the grade-point average for that semester is relevant.
